Back to Black

modern goth

Calling all fashion fiends and closet goths. If you’re like me and have the tendency to stick with dark tones or more specifically black attire but have been getting frustrated at sticking with perhaps more basic combinations then you would like, look no further. Wearing all black doesn’t have to be boring! Forget about your converse sneakers, indie band tees and skinny jeans - this modernised look is all about mixing textures, adding layers, adding statement accessories and killer footwear and don’t forget to add a rich purple lips like we have which will help to brighten up the dark look.

One of my favourite looks from this series was the more playful collared black dress paired with a adorable cat ear headpiece - while the look might not resonate as distinctly goth, it is definitely for those who want to add a bit of sweetness to their summer. Still stuck for ideas? Another key to mastering this look is to experiment with maxi length skirts and dresses which are perfect for these hot summer days but be sure to pair with killer accessories - think rings, rings, rings. Armour rings, studded rings, chain rings, banded rings and don’t forget your necklaces or earrings!  Black resonates classic chic style, it’s time to have fun and mix up textures, lengths and accessorize! It’s time to make noir fun again, here’s to a fresh new take on the world of goth.

LOVE these looks!! Not just because it’s black/gothic - such interesting textures! And quirky touches - the lace gloves, statement neckpiece, assymetrical hem, animal tail….really my thing :)

    Hey Michelle,

I actually purchased it from a store on Oxford Street called House of Fetish (which sells alot of leather, spandex items). As far as I know, it is the only one around but they usually restock every so often.
    Hope that helps babe xx

    Hi Not Bloody Mary Likely,

I mixed up her lipstick from eyeshadow. If you take a darkish blue eyeshadow and a pink blush and mix them with a bit of clear gloss, voila!

    Thanks x
