Androgyny Zoomed

There’s something about Christmas that evokes images of classic Hollywood and when I think of Christmas makeup, I think of red lips, glitter and sparkles with fresh and glowing skin. Here’s a run-through of the products I used to achieve the festive makeup in this week’s The Look.
To achieve Marnie’s glowing skin, I moisturised by mixing Cetaphil’s moisturiser mixed with Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser in Warm Radiance. I used MAC’s Face & Body foundation in C4 on her skin and Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Concealer under her eyes. As this look was meant to be quite androgynous, I skipped the blush and cheekbone highlight.
I used MAC Eyeshadow in Cork just above her socket and lined her eyes with PUR Minerals gel eyeliner in black. I love this product, it’s quite a dry texture while still being easy to apply. Sometimes gel eyeliners are far to creamy and are a huge mess to apply. I used Clinique High Impact mascara to coat her already super long lashes and lined the inside of her eyes with a white liner by Bourjois.
I filled in her eyebrows with Espresso eyeshadow by Bobbi Brown. She already had very full brows, but since this look was meant to be a little manly, I really went nuts with the eyebrows.
On Marnie’s lips, I used Crimson lipstick and then a red lip liner both by Revlon. It’s best to put on your lipstick then trace the edges to correct any mistakes with a lipliner.
To really make this look pop for a Christmas party, press a little MAC Reflects Pearl glitter over the top of the eyeshadow. It’s a fail safe way to make any look a little glitzy. Stay tuned for my first video makeup tutorial, coming soon!
