The Perfect Smoky Eye

Hello beauty addicts! Today’s post is going to be step-by-step instructions on how to achieve the gorgeous smoky eye from this weeks The Look, right in time for Christmas party season. Its super simple and you only need a couple of products.

Step One. Start with clean eyelids then apply a black gel eyeliner or soft pencil liner over your entire lid, up to just below your crease and soften the edges with either your finger or a blending brush. Make sure you get in as close to your lash line as you can.

Step Two. Press (not swirl, not windscreen wiper motions, just press firmly!) a matte or shimmery black eyeshadow over the top of the liner and softly blend upwards with the shadow into your crease. You can leave your lower lash line bare or you can take an angled brush and put a little black eyeshadow underneath as well, depending on how strong you want your look to be.

Step Three. To warm up the colour a little, take a bronzer or a soft brown colour and blend that into the your crease, over the top of the edge of black shadow.

Step Four. Line your inner lower lash line with either a black or white pencil liner (I used white in these photographs) then layer on as much mascara as your little eyeballs can handle.

Step Five. Finish off with a touch of light, shimmery eyeshadow right on your tear ducts and voila, the perfect and simple smoky eye. Keep your skin really fresh and dewy with a little nude gloss and you’re ready to hit the D-floor at your Christmas party!

Until next time xx

I was wondering if you could do a video on this, or for any make up tips. While I find the instructions good, it’ll be great if we could see it in action!
