DIY - The Joys of Melted Beads

February 17th, 2012 by  |  Published in Features, Headline  |  2 Comments

When did we ever stop playing with melted beads? The source of childhood entertainment and joy: the equation of those little round plastic tubes with the addition of baking paper and an iron never failed to capture our imaginations. So why have we ceased to indulge ourselves with the joys of melted plastic?

DIY steps
1. Choose your colours
2. Arrange the shape you want on a plastic grid
3. Lay a piece of baking paper on top of the grid and iron to melt the beads
4. Get creative using wire, ribbons and whatever else takes your fancy!

I freaking love these Vanessa! I foresee a trip to ikea in my near future to procure the beads to make my own rad jewellery. I especially love the choker, beyond awesome in a very 1990′s way.

Who knew melted beads could look so delicate? Lovely.
