Her three full wardrobes of clothing exemplify Bec’s love of everything that is fashion…and it just keeps on growing! Currently completing her final year towards a Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Textile Design at the University of Technology Sydney, Bec aims to one day relocate to New York to further fulfill her fashion dream.

New Kid On The Block: One-on-One With Newcomer, Gabriel Lee

From humble beginnings in South Korea, emerging designer Gabriel Lee is one to watch. After debuting at MBFWA in the Raffles College of Design and Commerce Showcase, Lee has sent the media into a fashion frenzy with his elegant designs and skillful artistry. Moving to Sydney after he completed high school, this fresh-faced newcomer has everything going for him. At just 24, he’s won several design competitions and awards, including the coveted Tessuti Award, which saw him travel to New York. Graduating from Raffles in 2009, not even the sky seems the limit for this talented designer. OTSOS was lucky enough to catch up with Lee, in his North Shore studio, for an exclusive sit down interview, post-Fashion Week!

MBFWA - A magical moment with Miss Unkon

On the first day of MBFWA, designer Courtney Meyer presented Miss Unkon’s Spring Summer 2012/13 collection entitled ‘The Life Between’. Inspired by the magical moments in our everyday lives intertwined with the honesty and magnificence of nature and cityscapes, the collection was whimsical in appearance with soft colours and intricate metal embellishment.

MBFWA Wrap - Day 1

With many high profile attendees and designers trotting about the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay, MBFWA geared up for a fashion packed day. Complete with local and international bloggers and media surrounding the venues, everyone just wanted to catch a glimpse of the glamour that is Fashion Week!

Fashion Week Frenzy – The Essentials You Need For The Week Ahead!

Ahhh yes, the weekend before Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia has finally arrived! As thoughts of all the designers adding their last minute touches to their collections conjure up in my mind, I am left smiling from ear to ear with sheer excitement! It’s just something about Fashion Week that sends the streets of Sydney into an electric buzz. From the stellar line up for this year’s shows to the new talent that’s sure to be a hit, Fashion Week brings that little something extra as we take to the streets and strut with style to preview the upcoming collections from our favourite fashionistas!

Rugged Up for Wool Modern

The sudden drop in temperature on Tuesday night made for a perfect opening evening at Pier 1&2 for the Wool Modern Exhibition – A Celebration of Wool in the 21st Century. Designed to showcase the very best in fashion design with the use of wool, the exhibition presented a variety of garments made by internationally acclaimed designers, as well as our home-grown Aussie talent.
